General Question Analyst

Out of 11 people answering questionnaire (multiple choice question):
9 chose Evaluation of data
5 chose Processing data with statistical techniques
1 chose Applying data outcomes
0 chose Collecting data

All terms above describe data analysis. However the majority focused on evaluation and processing rather than collecting data, where each step is equally important. It shows the tendency among average users of focusing only partly on the issue instead of taking more complex approach.

Out of 11 people answering questionnaire (multiple choice question):
7 thinks that Big Data is Large amount of data
thinks that Big Data is Data with too large volume to analyse it with traditional methods
thinks that Big Data is Data classify by specific categories such as Veracity or Value
thinks that Big Data is Older, buffer brother of usual data

Results of this question confirms that the knowledge of above average consumer (demographic results) about Big Data is superficial. Large amount of data is not clear enough specification to classify data as Big Data.
Out of 11 people answering questionnaire:
1 person is not very comfortable with companies holding and using details about them.
2 people are not comfortable with companies holding and using details about them.
3 people are neural with companies holding and using details about them.

Those result are worrying. Educated, young people should care more about their personal data and be more aware of how long companies can gather access to those informations.

Out of 11 people answering questionnaire:
4 are not in peace with government/companies using collected data
5 are neutral with government/companies using collected data
2 are in peace with government/companies using collected data

Those data suggest that people who answer that questionnaire are having rather neutral attitude towards thirds parties using their data. Again, worrying results considering demographic group.

Out of 11 people answering questionnaire:
9 very much wants to get paid by companies for personal data
1 is neutral about it
1 doesn't want to get paid by companies for personal data

There is no surprise that majority of people would like to get paid for their data. Human nature at the finest. When one offer you money you will take it with no questions ask, but no one is actually wondering how companies are gaining profit by our - already free - personal data.
Out of 11 people answering questionnaire:
The most efficient way of using Big Data is to gather data about their customers
The last efficient way of using Big Data is to maintain their equipment
The most average in efficiency of using Big Data is to find mining sources more efficiently.

This question - complicated in the structure, but clearly shows approach towards information about Big Data - clearly states that majority of people do not actually knows how non-IT company uses data. (for more information how Shell is using Big Data go here)
