Big data – what classify them and why Shell needs them?

 

 

 

In 2020 the average person generated 1.7 megabytes data per second. In contrast until 2003 only five exabytes were created overall. (Petrov, 2022) This massive increase could not be possible without global standardization of languages, applications, and operating systems. International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) is a pioneer of data management. Shortly after introducing first ever compatible IBM 360 processor, Information Management System (IMS) was created which was their first database management system. (Inmon and Linstedt, 2014) IBM still takes one of the most important parts in global process of data management and constantly increasing volume of it had its effect in Big Data. This essay aims to show how to classify data as Big Data and what impact Big Data has on multibillion company.
